JOINING NOTTINGHAM PISCATORIAL SOCIETY

DO YOU QUALIFY?

The qualifying criteria for membership are as follows:

Existing members may remain members even if they move outside this area.
Ex-members living outside the area, and who resigned honourably, may apply to rejoin the Society, under the terms in C10.
Sponsors of applicants must be fully paid-up members of the Society.
Tackle dealers and persons employed by tackle dealers are not allowed to propose an application.
A candidate has the right to appeal if he/she is refused membership, this should be done in writing to the Membership Secretary.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

There is an annual subscription, but, in the first year only, there is also an entrance fee.
The annual subscription is varied from time to time, but for 2024 the prices are:
Adult Membership £195
New Member Joining Fee £250
This means that £445 (including the entrance fee) is payable in the first year and £195 per annum thereafter (subject to any further changes in the subscription cost).

Please note that the membership year is the calendar year, ie. from January 1st to December 31st. Annual subscriptions must be paid by standing order.

HOW TO APPLY

There is currently a waiting list; date of application and qualification criteria will be used to determine where the prospective member is positioned on that list. Please note that membership is now full and East Stoke season tickets have been allocated.

Completed membership forms can be posted to the Membership Secretary, Mark Morris, The Lindens, Low Road, Manthorpe, Grantham, Lincs, LN31 8NQ. Please ensure the correct postage is placed on the envelope.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP

The society is keen to encourage youngters into the sport and has started a Junior Section for those under 16.
Junior Membership is free to anyone under eighteen, provided that they:
  • Are always accompanied on the Society waters by an existing NPS member
  • Are under control by the member who is responsible for their safety and behabiour
  • Hold a current EA rod licence if they are between 12 and 16 (under 12's don't requiare an EA licence)
The Junior Section is now headed by Gary Wright. Along with other Angling Trust coaches, Gary holds regular coaching sessions for Juniors. Gary can be contacted on NPSJuniors1@gmail.com.

The Society also holds an annual Junior Competition. This is an open event for anyone under 16 on the day. It's a great day out and completely free! Every entrant gets a prize and there are trophies to be won.

Bankside refreshments are provided during the match. There is a barbecue after the match. Plenty of help and support is available throughout the day.
